Can I keep running while trying to get pregnant? Doctor says yes, family says no
I run about 25 km a week, have done for four years, half marathon PB of 2:05. My gynae said there is no reason to stop while trying and that fitness going into pregnancy is a good thing. My mother-in-law, my mother, and two aunts have all said, independently, that running "shakes things loose" and I should stop now. I love these women and I also cannot stop running for a year based on a theory. Runners who continued through trying and early pregnancy, what did you do? Did you reduce mileage or intensity? How did you handle the family pressure without a fight every Sunday?
