half my hostel floor has conjunctivitis. am i just gonna get it?

started with 2 guys last week. now like 15 out of 30 rooms on my floor have red eyes and the warden has done nothing except put a notice on the board. we share a bathroom. we share the mess. we share everything basically. i've been washing hands like a maniac and not touching my face but i also live here. is there anything that actually works or is it just a matter of time? also if i get it do i have to miss the mid sems, because i'll take the eye infection over the makeup exam.
