How do you handle a fever during pregnancy?
Fever in pregnancy warrants earlier medical contact than it would otherwise, particularly in the first trimester where sustained high fever carries some risk. Paracetamol is the accepted first-line option; ibuprofen and other NSAIDs are generally avoided, especially after 20 weeks. Do not wait out an unexplained fever — dengue, typhoid, urinary infection and influenza all need identifying rather than assuming a simple viral cause, and a urinary infection in pregnancy in particular can progress quickly. Influenza vaccination during pregnancy is recommended and protects the baby in early months too.

Flu vaccine in pregnancy protecting the newborn afterwards was new to me when I was pregnant. Worth knowing.
The NSAID point is important and not widely known. Many households reach for whatever is in the cupboard.
