How do you manage a newborn when there is unsolicited advice from everyone?
It comes from care, and it is still exhausting. What helps practically: agree with your partner in advance on the few things that are non-negotiable — usually sleep position, feeding decisions and vaccination — and hold those firmly while letting smaller things go. Use the paediatrician as the external authority, which is easier than debating personally and is harder to argue with in Indian families. 'We are following what the doctor advised' ends most conversations. And accept that you cannot convince everyone; polite non-engagement preserves more energy than winning the argument.

Citing the paediatrician is the only thing that has ever ended these conversations in my family.
