My 13 year old daughter closed her door on me for the first time. Literally and otherwise.

Until this summer she would narrate her whole day to me over dinner. Who said what, which teacher was unfair, what the cat did. Now I get "fine" and "nothing" and the bedroom door is shut by 8. Her mother is in Dubai and calls every night, and I can hear her talking to her mother in a way she does not talk to me any more. I understand some of this is normal. I understand she is 13. I still feel like I have been demoted. Fathers of teenage daughters, how did you stay in the room without forcing your way in? What worked, what made it worse?
