My old flatmate had TB last year and was treated. Should I still get checked?

He was diagnosed with pulmonary TB in July last year while we were sharing a flat. He completed his six months of treatment and his doctor declared him cured. We stayed in the same flat for the first two months of his treatment. At the time I did nothing because I felt fine. I still feel fine. But I recently read that latent TB can sit quietly for years, and now that I am married I keep thinking about it. Is there a test for this? Is it worth doing a year later with no symptoms? My GP was vague when I asked, so I would like to hear from anyone who has been through a similar situation.
