Therapy has been great and I also want to quit therapy every single week
Started in March 2025 after the divorce. It has genuinely changed things. I sleep, I do not spiral at 2 am, I can be in the same room as my ex's family at weddings without wanting to leave the country. And every Thursday at 6:45 pm, fifteen minutes before my session, I want to cancel. Every week. I go, it helps, and the following Thursday the wanting-to-cancel is back like it learned nothing. Is this normal? My therapist says it is "resistance", which is very convenient for her. People who have stayed in therapy for years, does this go away, or is it a permanent feature you just tolerate?
