What finally made you take training seriously after years of starting and stopping?

Most people do not begin because of a dramatic moment. The pattern that seems to work is lowering the entry cost until starting is almost trivial — a fifteen minute walk, a single set, showing up in your clothes without a plan. Motivation follows action far more reliably than it precedes it. The people who stick with it usually describe an unremarkable stretch of weeks where nothing felt inspiring and they went anyway. If you have restarted five times, that is not failure, it is the normal shape of the thing.

Nothing about my sixth attempt felt different. It just happened to be the one I did not stop.

The restarting point matters. I spent years treating each restart as proof I could not do it.

Lowering the entry cost is what worked for me. I stopped planning sessions and just committed to changing clothes.
